Piflar is a question answering system for Slovenian. Piflar first analyzes the text semantically. It automatically extracts information and stores it in the knowledge base. The stored information is then used to answer questions in natural language. The language of the answer is independent of the language of analysis. Piflar is therefore able to answer in Slovene also on the basis of acquired knowledge from English texts and vice versa.
